CORTEZ, CO – September 15, 2026 – BlueLine Development recently welcomed the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado for a tour of Tawi Kaan, our Permanent Supportive Housing community in Cortez, Colorado.
The visit provided an opportunity to highlight the impact of collaborative partnerships in creating housing solutions that strengthen communities and support residents in need. Tawi Kaan is the result of extraordinary collaboration between the Pinon Project and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, along with investors, lenders, local stakeholders, and numerous public and private partners committed to expanding access to safe, stable housing.
While touring a development during construction is always rewarding, the true success of a community is measured long after the final building is completed. At Tawi Kaan, that impact can be seen through the residents who now call the community home and the stability, dignity, and opportunity that quality housing helps create. One powerful example is Korey’s story, recently highlighted by Colorado Housing and Finance Authority , which demonstrates how access to safe, supportive housing can create a foundation for lasting change. His experience serves as a reminder that housing is about far more than providing a place to live. It can be the first step toward rebuilding stability, pursuing new opportunities, and creating a brighter future.
Walking the property and connecting with individuals whose lives have been positively affected by the development serves as a powerful reminder that housing is about people. The physical structures are simply the vehicle. The real purpose is creating communities where residents have the support, resources, and foundation they need to thrive.

We are grateful for leaders who take the time to see this work firsthand and engage in meaningful conversations about what is possible when public, private, nonprofit, and Tribal partners come together around a shared vision.
